MAINE VOLUNTEERS.A fascinating personalized straight razor marked on the blade " MANUFACTURED BY WADE & BUTCHER SHEFFIELD ". The black hard rubber handle is engraved " Capt. T. W. Hyde Co. D. 7th Me. Inf. ". Hyde began his military as Capt of Company D of the 7th Maine and rose to the rank of Brevet Brigadier General shortly after the war. Years after the war, he was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions at Antietam. The 7th Maine fought in numerous major battles during the Civil War. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 4 modern photos of Hyde, his gravestone, ant the 7th Maine monument. A current reprinted book titled "FOLLOWING THE GREEK CROSS OR, MEMORIES OF THE SIXTH ARMY CORPS " written by Hyde. CONDITION: The blade has a gray mottled patina and the handle shows light wear.
