SUPERPOSED SIDE PLATED O/U SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga. S# 78483S7. Spectacular 2 bbl. set shotgun with Chambord (F1) Royal style engraving. This is the finest European style engraving pattern offered by FN. Game scenes feature flying mallards on right side plate with flushing pheasants on right side plate and flushing quail on floorplate. Scenes are surrounded by foliate scroll and chain stitched borders that extend to top lever, trigger guard, forearm iron and breech section of bbls. Satin silver finished action features a single selective trigger and selective ejectors. Wood and checkering are the finest that FN offered. Schnable tipped 3 piece forearm and long tang swan neck stock have an oil type finish on dark European walnut having fiddle figure with prominent dark streaking. Elegant hand checkering wraps over the top of the wrist. Forearm has extensive checkering on upper and lower sections. LOP: 14 3/8" to a wood butt with French style skip line hand checkering. DAC: 1 5/8". DAH: 1 7/8". Stock has approx. 3/8" cast off. Both bbls. are 27 5/8" with narrow 5mm hand matted vent ribs. Original choke markings on both bbls. are 2 stars under and 1 over, signifying M & F. (Bbl. No. 1) Small steel front bead. Bore diameter: U .723, O .727". Choke constriction: U .017", O .038". Minimum wall thickness: U .040", O .036". (Bbl. No. 2) Large steel front bead. Bore diameter: U .727", O .728". Choke constriction: U .016", O .021". Minimum wall thickness: U .030", O .028". WEIGHT: 6 lbs, 14 ozs. Mfg. in Belgium for the European market in 1967. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Hartman 2 bbl. set case with white plastic handle insert, fleece lining and original key. Case is in very good condition. CONDITION: near excellent showing little if any use. Bbls. and action retain over 98% original finish. Bbl. set no. 2 shows light slide wear from forearm with small mark on right side of bottom bbl. Stock has excellent wood finish. Checkering on left side of wrist has a few bruised diamonds.
