PARKER REPRODUCTION LIMITED EDITION A1 SPECIAL TWO BARREL SET SXS SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 GA". S# 20-155. Bbl. #1: 28" with 2 3/4" and 3" chambers. Bbl. #2: 26" 2 3/4" chambers. Both bbls. are marked "Overload Proved". "O" frame boxlock action featuring selective ejectors and gold finished checkered single selective trigger. A1 Special quality engraving by Master Engraver Geoffroy Gournet of Easton, PA, 1960-2025. Full coverage foliate scroll hand engraving has elaborate borders and shaded backgrounds. Center piece of the engraving is the floorplate vignette featuring a bulino style engraved setters head based on artwork in the book "Dogs in the Field" by Marguerite Kirmse. Bottom of frame has raised gold "Parker Bros" marking. The frame features finely sculpted bolsters with 3-flutes. The sculpted top lever has a 5-fluted center section. The floral engraving extends to the long tang trigger guard, skeleton steel buttplate, forearm iron, Deeley release, and sculpted tip. Breech section of both bbls. have wedges of matching floral engraving ahead of single gold line wedding bands at breech ends. Trigger guard bow features a rising woodcock. Safe marking on top tang and S# marking on trigger guard tang are both gold inlaid. Action and fittings have a fine custom French gray finish. Splinter forearm and straight hand stock of fine thin shell walnut with vivid dark streaking and striking light to medium brown tones. A1 Special Grade 24 LPI hand checkering featuring carved borders with extra panels of checkering on the stock ears and sculpted fluer-di-lis highlights. Skeleton butt has complimentary single border fluer-di-lis hand checkering. Toe line of stock has an unmarked oval presentation plate. LOP: 14 1/8" over the skeleton buttplate. DAC: 1 1/4". DAH: 2 1/16". Stock has a near neutral cast. Downward pitch is 2 3/8" with 28" bbls. Bbl. #1, 28":Bore Diameter: RT: .619, LT: .619. Choke Constriction: RT: .005 (Improved Cyl.), LT: .011 (Light Mod.). Minimum Wall Thickness: RT: .033, LT: .034. Bbl. #2, 26":Bore Diameter: RT: .619, LT: .616. Both sets of bbls. are fitted with ivory front and mid beads. Ribs are marked "Parker Reproduction by WINCHESTER East Alton IL. U.S.A. Made in Japan". The Parker Reproduction shotguns were mfg. to original Parker specifications by Winchester starting in 1983 until the factory was closed in January of 1989. During 2004 Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company offered a limited quantity of A1 Specials in-the-white without metal finish or engraving in 12 or 20 gauge only. Without cases or accessories the price of a 2 bbl. set without engraving and metal finish was $6,750. This gun was purchased by the consignor and finished to his preferences by some of the finest craftsman in the business. French born Master Engraver Geoffroy Gournet who studied at the Liege, Belgium School of Gunsmithing and later worked under some of Italy's finest master engravers was commissioned to embellish this masterpiece. Mr. Gournet, while employed by Parker Reproductions, engraved all of the Parker A1 customs (approx. 300 over a 15 year period) which showcased Parker Reproductions highest level of ornamentation. The exquisite rust blue bbl. finish was done by Andrew McFarland. The stock was refinished at the time of the engraving by Stephan Hutton of Britinnia Arms, formerly of Churchill. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed within an oak and leather case with brass corners and fittings. Purple velour 2-bbl. set fitted interior. Inside of case lid has black Parker Reproduction label. Case is protected by a leather trimmed khaki canvas zippered cover. Also included is a finely detailed account of the meticulous building of this very special shotgun. Parker Reproductions specifications/Features fold out pamphlet. CONDITION: near excellent as custom finished. Bbls. and action retain virtually all rust blue and French gray finish. Gold finished trigger shows small spots of discoloration. Refinished wood shows a few scattered superficial handling marks with spots of light wear. Both bbls. have bright near excellent bores. Case is in near excellent condition. This is possibly the finest Limited Edition Parker Reproduction A1 Special in existence. (25-3415/DS/MLW). MODERN. $14,000-19,000.
