O/U SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-3/4". S# K0028. The strikingly attractive decoration on this fine little gun is reminiscent of the intriguing paintings by Martin Johnson Heade featuring hummingbirds and orchids. It has 26-1/8" demi-block barrels fitted with matted solid game rib. Bottom flats are stamped with 2011 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. S# and maker's initials (A&S). Coin finished round bodied low profile O/U action with removable trigger group features non-automatic safety and single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved with near full coverage stylized scrolling vines with central orchid blossoms and with smaller blossoms flanking. This beautifully cut and shaded engraving is overlaid by multi-colored enamel work renderings of hummingbirds and insects. A large blue, green and red bird is on left side flanked by honeybees. Two hummingbirds are on right side; one is blue the other is green. A honeybee is entering orchid flower under blue hummingbird. A monarch butterfly is a center on bottom of action. Ladybugs are at center of top lever pivot and right side of thumb piece. Maker's name "FAMARS" is on bottom of action behind forend iron. Engraver's signature "L. GRIFFITHS" is on trigger plate. (Lee Griffiths of Hyde Park, Utah. Once a farmer; now a world class engraver.) His fine flowers and scroll continue onto trigger guard bow and long tang, which is engraved with S#. Very attractive darkly marbled and stump figured Circassian walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-5/8" over brown leather covered pad. Well cut point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching slim forend with Boss style ejector bolsters has Anson type release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .622. U .622. Restriction: O .017 (mod). U .010 (IC). Wall thickness: O .035.
