GRADE. Cal. 16 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 23285. It appears that this gun was in exceptionally fine condition and needed only a moderate amount of professional help to make it look "as new". The 26" barrels have factory markings on side of left barrel. Bottoms are marked for IC and Mod chokes. Blued action features automatic safety and blued single selective trigger. Pistol grip buttstock of somewhat crotch figured American walnut measures 14" over Winchester buttplate and has point pattern checkering at grip. Matching braced beavertail ejector forend has usual Model 21 "J" spring and knurled button release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .668. R .667. Restriction: L .013 (Mod). R .006 (IC). Wall thickness: L .032. R .025. STOCK: DAH: 2-7/16". DAC: 1-1/2". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 4 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory letter with specifications build date of 1953; along with invoice from CSMC for "Repair: Marks in stock". CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Barrels retain what appears to be essentially all of their original blue. Action also appears to have nearly all of its original blue with only a hint of lightening. Floorplate has a few marks. Stocks retain nearly all of a glossy varnish finish, perhaps original with additions. Buttplate does show some marks and bumps at heel with re-blued screws. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanically crisp. (25-5093/MGM). CURIO. $4,000-6,000.
