Top of the receiver is marked "WAFFENFABRIK/ MAUSER/ OBERNDORF A/N/ 1895", with the S# and Swedish inspector initials "J.V". Most small parts exhibit the typical Swedish crown proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood stock with grasping grooves, sling slot cutout, and a plain wood handguard. Right side of buttstock exhibits a unit marked brass disc that reads "1/ K5/ No 173".. Dovetailed blade front sight with carbine pattern rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the receiver, bolt stop housing, bolt shroud, safety lever, cocking piece, rear sight, bbl. band, and buttplate. Floorplate has been renumbered at one time to match. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina overall. Bore exhibits consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a notable pinned repair present at the toe. Handguard exhibits a notable chip along the front edge of the bbl. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col. (26-799/MLW). CURIO. $250-350.
