REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 310550. Bbl. 5 ½". First generation Colt carried by Captain Jack Dean, retired, Texas Ranger's Co. D, San Antonio, Texas. Frame, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder, Bbl., and ejector housing have 50% coverage of vine type foliate engraving with punch dot backgrounds. Backstrap is engraved “Capt. Jack Dean”. Engraving is the work Boerne, Texas engraver Jim Riggs. Frame and grip straps have matching numbers. Custom two-piece stag grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt Archive Properties letter stating; "Serial Number: 310550/Caliber: .45c/Bbl. Length: 4-3/4”/Finish: Blue/Type of Stocks: Not Listed/Shipped to: Winchester Repeating Arms Company/Address: New Haven, Connecticut/Date of Shipment: August 23, 1909/Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 6”. Letter from the Texas Department of Public Safety verifying that the revolver belonged to and was used by Capt. Jack Dean during his tenure as a law enforcement officer in the state of Texas. Second letter is hand written note signed by Jack Dean with a copy of his business card corroborating the revolver was used by him. Also included in the lot is a modern reproduction Texas Ranger badge and an autographed photograph of Capt. Jack Dean.
