NAVY LUGER. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 994L. Bbl. 5 7/8". P.04 Navy Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Right side of the bbl. extension exhibits a small Swiss Geneva Cross proof. Left side of breechblock exhibits a navy crown proof. Rear of the frame exhibits a Thai encircled lion head above Thai characters denoting the Bangkok police #. Front grip strap exhibits engraved Thai characters. Metal components exhibit a professionally reapplied blue finish overall, with some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and ejector exhibiting a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with Navy adj. V-notch rear sight. Nearly all serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever (underside), safety bar, bbl., breechblock, firing pin, as well as the toggles. Numbers and proofs have been enhanced, likely at the time of restoration. Left grip panel is unnumbered, with the right panel numbered "19" on the interior. Bbl. is a contemporary replacement. MAGS: 1 plated 8-rd. mag., marked "610" on the spine, with a Crown/M proof marked on the wood bottom. CONDITION: excellent, as professionally restored, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of light pitting and spots of mild pitting beneath the finish overall. Frame exhibits heavy pitting beneath the bluing under the grip panels. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Strawed parts are excellent, retaining the vast majority of their reheated finish. Grips are very good, showing mild smoothing and some superficial handling marks overall. (25-517).
