1) Side Hammer Target Pistol. Cal. 36. S# 189. 8 3/4" octagon to round bbl. with fasted transition & rifled bore. Dovetailed blade front with V notch adj. rear sight that extends over the action. Hardwood ramrod is by a faceted brass thimble & single faceted brass pipe. Round body side hammer action with finger curl trigger guard. Bag type walnut grips. A few hundred mfg. in the late 1840s into the 1850s. CONDITION: metal has a faded brown appearance showing numerous small dents & mark with pitting in the forward portion of the action. Grips have a dark worn appearance with handling marks. Functioning action. Dark lightly pitted bore. 2) Center Hammer Pistol. Cal. 36. S# 682. 4 3/4" octagon to round bbl. with facet transition and rifled bore. Bead front with fixed V notch rear sight. Round body action with center mounted hammer. Bag type walnut grips. A few thousand were mfg. from the 1840s until the Civil War period. CONDITION: gray metal showing spotted light pitting & corrosion. Grips show finish wear & handling marks. Sound mechanics. Dark moderately pitted bore. 3) Bar Hammer Pistol. Cal. 28. S# 130. 2 3/8" octagon to round bbl. with faceted transition. Round body action with center mounted bar hammer having the April 16,1845 patent date on the left side. Bag type walnut grips. Estimated quantity of several thousand mfg. into the Civil War period. CONDITION: (01-28877/DS). ALL ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
