This lot includes 1 New Testament in German published in 1855 with a pencil inscription in the front that reads "William Wodkey had this book in the pocket in the war where he was shot". The bible does exhibit blood stains. / 1 New Testament issued in WWII and dated 1942 with an inscription in the front that reads "Glenn E. Ballard ASN.38357561.". / 1 small "SOLDIER'S POCKET BIBLE" printed in 1861 with an ink inscription in the front "Mr. Aaron.Vanscoyoes _ Book April 1st / 63 Camp near Fallmouth Va" & "Aaron Vanscoyoe Tipton Blair Co Penna.". Cover is gold embossed with patriotic scene and the words "SOLDIER'S POCKET BIBLE". / 1 small book titled "INFANTRY TACTICS DOUBLE AND SINGLE RANK", by BVT. Major General Emory Upton. This manual was published in New York in 1877. Among several inscriptions is one that reads "Quartermaster 7th Regt. ING Comp E Camp Cullin Springfield Ills". CONDITION: all books show wear but are complete with covers and pages appear to be substantially complete. The German Testament shows significant wear with loose, but present, pages.
