1860 HENRY LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44-40. S# E34. Bbl. 24" octagon bbl. with integral mag. Shrouded front end rotates for loading. Folding leaf 900 yard rear sight with empty slot for blade front sight. Blue finished bbl., lever, and hammer. Brass action features vine type foliate scroll engraving with punch dot backgrounds. Bottom of frame is marked with apparent engraver signature "CGO". Straight grip stock of nicely grained walnut with brass crescent buttplate having matching engraving at peak. Left side of stock has a brass presentation plaque marked "Presented to/ Lt. Col. George A. Custer/ June 4 1868/ By 7th Cavalry". Mfg. in Italy by Uberti. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: certificate of authenticity from Stembridge Gun Rental Co. Inc. stating that this rifle was used by Tom Selleck in the 1996 movie "Last Stand at Sabre River". This rifle was also used by Danny Glover in the 1985 movie "Silverado". Letter additionally states "The left side of the rifle stock on this Henry rifle has a silver plate for presentation to Lt. Colonel George A. Custer - 1868. This is believed to have been done for use in the 1998 film "Wild Wild West". Also accompanied by a Stembridge invoice and certificate of insurance. CONDITION: bbl. retains 80% lightly worn blue showing edge wear and scratches. Action has acquired a light patina with dark spotting showing light handling marks. Original stock finish shows wear with numerous scratches and marks. Sound mechanics. Bore retains sound rifling showing scattered pitting. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection.
