WOOD. Amos Phineas Wood (1841-1924) was a gunsmith in North Hampden, Delaware County, New York from 1850-1882. He made percussion 1/2 stock guns.
This lot includes:
A photograph of the man.
A small group of tools 3 ink stamps & 2 stamps for striking metal along with corresponding wood block.
A small group of 6 tools for threading breech plugs, most appear hand made.
A pair of wooden & a pair of iron blocks for bullet molds.
Early wooden shooters box approx. 11" x 10" x 5" able to house 40 lead bullets; box contains 2 bullets, cap tin & oil bottle. CONDITION: items appear to have a gray patina appearance overall with spots of corrosion & crack in large threading tool, but appear mostly intact. (02-25744/MD). NON-GUN. $500-700.
