Cal. 67. NSN. The 48" tapered rnd. bbl. has Birmingham proofs at rear. Flint lock w/ slightly rounded plate is fitted w/ reinforced cock, integral rounded pan, bridled friction frizzen & feather spring w/ stub finial. A crown is stamped at front of cock & tail is marked "TOWER" "PROOF". Beechwood stock extends to w/ in 6" of muzzle & is brass mounted w/ trigger guard having vestigial finial, buttplate has shaped top spur, vacant oval crest plate, heavy relief sideplate & cast beaded ramrod pipes & thimble. An iron button head ramrod is present. Stock is carved w/ initials "WNE" in front of trigger guard finial. CONDITION: good. Iron parts all old dark brown patina. Brass nicely toned. Wood w/ old, possible original finish has many marks & some heavy dings but is generally sound. Rusted bore. Lock operable but frizzen very loose & has been resteeled w/ top portion of new steel missing. (01-20331/MGM). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
