Overall length of 93” w/ a 10” head. The iron spear head has a conical base that is held to the wooden shaft by a single nail. Wooden shaft appears to be a soft wood & is faceted in sections. This spear is pictured in “INDIAN GUNS, SPEARS, AND SHIELDS OF THE AMERICAN FRONTIER” by John Baldwin. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a copy of the pertinent pages from the book are attached to the spear. CONDITION: the head has an ancient, dark, pitted patina. The haft also shows significant age. PROVENANCE: from the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18506/BF). $200-300.
