1) PRUSSIAN. Overall length: 31". Blade length: 25". Plain blade w/ a single narrow fuller near the spine. Solid brass hilt featuring a heart shaped guard w/ tongue quillon, spiral grip & spherical pommel. Knuckle bow attaches to guard w/ a screw as seen in Prussian examples. Underside of guard has a commemorative inscription from the latter half of the 1800s that reads, "Taken at Breeds Hill by Capt. J. Evans 23rd Reg of Foot 1775". No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a uniform dark oxidized patina. Hilt has been cleaned but is beginning to reestablish a mellow patina. (02-16110/BF).
2) BRITISH M1751. Overall length: 30 1/2". Blade length: 24 1/2". Plain blade w/ a single narrow fuller near the spine. A running fox on each side reads, "HARVEY". Heart shaped guard w/ 2 ancillary branches. Quillon has been removed. Bulbous pommel & spiral grip. The underside of the guard engraved, "WESTMORELAND M 7/1". No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray, cleaned, mottled finish. Hilt has been polished but has begun to regain a mellow patina. (02-16118/BF). $900-1,600.
