Scarce S&K 1840 cavalry saber of type imported by the US army prior to Ames contracts 1845. 36" heavy blade, "S&K" over Solingen inspection markings on top edge, mismatched scabbard slightly short and missing throat, good scuffed grip. Second saber is very good "R&C" marked on top edge of 36" blade, well fit steel scabbard. CONDITION: good overall. PROVENANCE: Marcus Porpora lifelong sword collection. (02-26424-14/JS).
