COLONEL WILLIAM S. BROPHY. These two statues are executed in pewter & have rounded walnut bases. No.1: figure of the Marlin Horse & Rider. The metal base is marked "DANGER AHEAD" & "THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO.". The rounded walnut base measures approx. 4 1/2" by 6". The figure stands approx. 7 1/2" tall. Base is marked underneath "Bristol Pewter North Attleborough Mass". CONDITION: statue is in very good condition w/ only scattered tiny handling marks on the wooden base. Statue is slightly loose on the base. No.2: figure of General George Washington kneeling in prayer in the snows of Valley Forge. George Washington in a winter cloak, wearing his sword has clasped hands. Statue is unmarked. CONDITION: statue is in very good condition w/ the base having only tiny handling marks. PROVENANCE: letter dated February 17, 2025, "To whom it may concern, The lot consists of two detailed pewter statues on wooden bases. These stood on the desk of Lt. Col. William S. Brophy (Ret).
