JEAN BAPTISTE LEPRINCE (French, 18th Century) BATHING AT THE WELL and THE SLEIGH RIDE. 1) Three nude and partially nude maidens bathing with a figural water fountain which has flowing water out of a dolphin's mouth deep in the woods. 2) A man in a colorful costume wearing ice skates pushing an elegantly dressed woman seated in an ornate swan-carved vozok. Both works are signed lower right "J.B. Leprince, 1779". Each housed in a gold leaf carved frame with foliate decoration. SIZE: each overall 20" x 27", each sight 17 1/2" x 24 1/2". CONDITION: both appear in original untouched condition and maintain a strong and vibrant palette.
