1) ARTILLERY. A nice example of an M1881 mounted artillery plumed dress helmet. Gilded brass artillery front plate and side buttons with gilded brass plume holder, base, and cord guides. Red horsehair plume with red wool cords and waffles. Brown leather sweatband with no interior markings. CONDITION: helmet generally shows light wear, but there is a slight crack to the rear visor. 2) CAVALRY. A good example of an M1881 cavalry plumed dress helmet. Gilded brass cavalry front plate and side buttons with gilded brass plume holder, base, and cord guides. Deep yellow horsehair plume with bright yellow reproduction wool cords and waffles. Brown leather sweatband with no interior markings. CONDITION: helmet shows moderate wear with a crack to the exterior rear of the body and a crack to the rear visor. 3) CARTRIDGE BOX. A good example of an M1903 McKeever russet leather cartridge box for a 30-40 Krag rifle. Box holds 20 rounds and pivots open and closed with a leather securing strap. CONDITION: box generally shows light wear. (02-21090/BF). $400-600.
