1) Post WWI era French Air Force Mechanics badge measures approx. 2 1/4" x 2". This 1930s badge appears to be aluminum and depicts a large, vertical propeller with a single bird's wing to the right, superimposed over a toothed gear with four internal spokes. The rear of the badge has a single, small loop for attachment. CONDITION: badge shows light wear overall. (02-22997/BF). 2) WWI era French Naval Aeronautics badge measures approx. 3 3/4" x 2". The badge appears to be brass with copper wings and depicts a large, winged anchor with a central toothed gear device. The rear of the badge shows crude construction with no maker's marks. This could be a homemade piece or possibly of jewelry construction. CONDITION: badge shows light wear overall. (02-22998/BF). $300-500.
