1) Post WWI French Air Crew badge measures approx. 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" with a silvered finish, likely dating from about 1925. It depicts a propeller with a single extended bird's wing superimposed over a circle. The rear of the badge has two loops, and the circle is numbered "15590." The badge is housed in a red leather case, marked on the inside "ARTHUS BERTRAND PARIS." CONDITION: badge shows light overall wear. (02-22992/BF). 2) 1912-1916 WWI era French Air Crew badge measures approx. 2 1/8" x 2 3/8", excluding the pin. The badge appears to be copper with a silver propeller. It depicts a large, vertical propeller with a single hand-engraved bird's wing to the right, superimposed over a plain ring. The rear of the badge has a single, straight 2 1/4" pin in the center. CONDITION: badge is very slightly misshaped and has a pleasing, untouched patina. (02-22996/BF). $600-900.
