HENRY DERINGER PERCUSSION PISTOLS. Both: bbls. 2 1/2" with browned finishes and copper blade front sights with brass bands at the breech ends. Brightly finished locks have gold-plated inlaid borders with serpent hammers and gold-plated inlaid eyes. 14-kt. gold-plated fittings consist of acorn finial trigger plates, trigger guards, trapdoor buttcaps, sideplate escutcheons, wedge escutcheons, and shields on the wrists. Locks, hammers, and fittings have a generous coverage of vine-type foliate scroll ornamentation. Stocks of fine English walnut have gloss finishes and hand checkering. A limited edition of 100 pairs was mfg. in 1978 only. The last issue price was $2,700. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: leather-bound book display box with a red velour-fitted interior. The box contains a powder flask, a short starter, an ebony-handled nipple wrench, an ebony-handled turnscrew, and a single-cavity bullet mold. Also included are loading and firing instructions, a packing slip, and a drawing of a gambler and his lady with a steamboat in the background. GUN 1: S# G5A. CONDITION: near excellent, showing light muzzle & edge wear on the bbl.; appears to be unfired. Near-excellent bore. GUN 2: S# G5B. CONDITION: near excellent; appears unfired.
