Cal. 45-70. S# 74220. Standard configuration w/ 32 1/2" bbl. held by 2 spring retained bands has "V", "P" & eagle head proofs at rear. Original long range ladder rear & front sights are present. Action w/ thin receiver ring has high arch breechblock. Lock is marked w/ eagle, "US SPRINGFIELD" & "1873". Walnut stock is iron mounted. "US" is on buttplate tang. Inspectors marks are not noted. Top of wrist behind bbl. tang stamped "N.G.D." A circled "P" is behind trigger guard tang. CONDITION: fair to good. Bbl. & lock w/ old cleaning over dark brown pitted patina. Markings on lock somewhat obscured. Stock retains most of an old oil finish w/ a lg. number of marks, dings & scuffs. Bore is fair, considerably pitted & dark. Mechanically good. (01-20333/MGM). ANTIQUE. $500-700.
