Cal. 22 LR. S# US3139. Bbl. 27". Barrel markings include "O.F. MOSSBERG & SONS INC / NORTH HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. MODEL 144 US 22 LONG RIFLE ONLY". Receiver is marked on left side in-front of serial number with "U.S.". The Model 144US was produced between 1960 and 1963 for the U.S. Armed Forces. Rifle is equipped with Redfield target rear sight and unmarked globe front sight with post insert. Hardwood stock with raised cheekpiece. Stock is marked with a distinct "2" on right and left sides over magazine well. Stock is equipped with sling swivels and an adjustable hand-stop in the forend. Green web military issue sling. MAGS: none. CONDITION: stock has light wear and scattered handling marks. Green safety indicator is not present on top of grip. Metal retains 95% of its original blue finish with very light wear.
