Cal. 45-70. S# 176043. Bbl. 22". Pinned blade front sight with Model 1879 carbine marked rear sight. "1873" marked low arch breechblock. "1873" dated Springfield lock. Band fastened walnut stock with trapdoor carbine buttplate. Left side of stock has a saddle ring and bar with a lightly visible "SWP" cartouche having an apparent "1881" date. CONDITION: metal finish is fading to gray showing small dents at breech end of bbl. Stock has worn finish showing numerous dents, scratches, and marks. Sound mechanics. Lightly pitted bore has worn rifling. (01-27352/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
