RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S#1355685. Bbl.24". Barrel marked behind front sight "SA" "flaming bomb" and "6-31" which is the approximate manufacture date for the rifle. Ladder rear sight w/o "volley notch" graduated to 2850 yards. Dished elevation knob and flat windage knob. Blade front sight with unmarked stamped sight cover. Bolt with swept handle marked "R" and "A" underneath handle. All milled furniture including smooth trap buttplate and grooved trigger. Walnut stock set. Straight grip buttstock made w/2 recoil bolts has only a faint "circle P" proof. Brown leather model 1907 sling assembled from two 1918 dated parts. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: two bayonets, (1). 9 7/8" fullered blade M-1 bayonet marked on left ricasso "U.C." "flaming bomb" "U.S.". Grooved composite grips. Marked "H" on top of pommel. Green plastic scabbard with metal throat. Blade has been sharpened and has grind marks at tip. Metal has moderate wear and thinning. Grips have moderate wear. (2). 16" fullered blade Model 1942 bayonet marked on left ricasso "SA" "flaming bomb" and "1918". Left ricasso marked "US". Grooved composite grips. Green plastic scabbard with metal throat. Blade has arsenal rework blue with thinning and wear. Grips have moderate wear. CONDITION: Stock set has an arsenal rework finish with moderate wear and staining through out. There is a slight loss of wood in inletted areas. The butt and grip have added metal reinforcements driven flush with the surface on top. Metal has an arsenal rework parkerized finish with thinning and wear. Very good shiny bore. (23-2667/RW). CURIO. $600-900.
