RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 1244371. Bbl. 24" marked behind front sight "SA", flaming bomb, "12-21". Ladder aperture rear sight w/ volley notch. Graduated to 2850 yards. Blade front sight w/ protective hood. Replacement bolt mfg. by "Bonnie Forge". Balance of bolt parts are marked "R". Cutoff is marked "R". All milled furniture w/ fine checkered trap buttplate and grooved trigger. Bayonet lug is marked "H". Straight grip. S type walnut stock w/ 2 recoil bolts. Stock is marked on left side over trigger guard w/ unboxed "S.A.D.A.L." acceptance mark. 2 Circle "P" proofs under grip. Marked "U" in cutoff recess. Walnut handguard w/ 2 reinforcing clips. Sighting groove is cut notably offset to the left. Green web sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: green web muzzle cover dated "1944". Nickel plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has period arsenal rework finish w/ a slight loss of wood at recoil bolts & around grasping grooves but retains a good appearance leaving the markings mostly legible. Metal retains 70% arsenal rework dark parkerized finish w/ light wear & scattered handling marks. Good shiny bore w/ lightly worn lands & beginnings of frosting in grooves ahead of chamber.
