RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 1213041. Bbl. 24". Barrel marked behind front sight "SA / flaming bomb / 1-21". Receiver is also produced in 1921. Ladder rear sight without volley notch with flat windage and elevation knobs. Blade front sight. Front sight has unmarked sheet metal protector. Bolt with swept handle is marked "WL3" on top and punch proof underneath. Gas hole in extractor. Receiver without Hatcher hole. All milled furniture including smooth trap buttplate. Walnut stock set. Buttstock marked on left side with boxed "DAL" acceptance mark. Marked in cutoff recess with "O". Encircled "P" proof under grip. Handguard is likely a replacement and shows an area of hand fitting around the lower band, but is not "duffel cut". Brown leather military style sling. CONDITION: buttstock has lightly worn original finish with scattered handling marks. Handguard, except as noted, has period finish with light wear. Metal parts retain 80% of their original finish with light wear. Metal parts in this era would typically contain a mix of blue and black parkerized finishes. Very good shiny bore with sharp lands.
