MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 450729. Bbl. 24". Replacement bbl. is marked behind front sight "SA / flaming bomb / 11-18 / A". Very nice original finish type S walnut stock w/ crisp markings consisting of boxed "J.S.A.", encircled script "P" proof under grip & "18" assembly number. All milled furniture including fine checkered trap buttplate. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,850 yards w/ volley notch, dished elevation knob & flat windage knob. Blade front sight. Blued steel sight cover marked w/ "R", "flaming bomb" & "US". Replacement bolt w/ swept handle. Bolt & bolt shroud are marked "R". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel-plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has nice original finish w/ very light wear & the expected small handling marks scattered throughout. Notable small dent on right side of butt at heel. Metal parts retain 75% of their original lightly worn thinning blue. Bore has moderately worn lands w/ frosted grooves. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1925/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
