ACTION TRAINING RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 15771B. Bbl. 24". This rifle was arsenal-reworked to convert it to M1922M2 configuration. The markings were given an additional "1" after the original "M1" and a "B" was added to the s# as a suffix. The barrel is marked behind front sight "SA (flaming bomb) 11-28". Barrel is marked on the left side of the chamber "LONG RIFLE CART'GE ONLY". Lyman 48 rear sight. Slide is graduated to 125 points. All sight assembly numbers match. Blade front sight equipped with issue sight protector. Scope blocks have been fitted. The front block has a notably thick steel shim. The bolt body has adjustable headspace and is finished in-the-white. Bolt handle is marked on top "NS M2". Unmarked walnut stock has a stamped cup-type checkered buttplate. Worn vintage Model 1907-style leather sling. MAGS: one 5rd., marked "M-2" on the left side. CONDITION: stock has a very nice-appearing arsenal rework finish with tiny scattered handling marks. Metal retains nearly all of its high-quality arsenal rework finish with very light high-point wear. Near excellent, shiny bore. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Jim Williams (24-2703/RW).
