SPRINGFIELD BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 11117. Bbl. 24". Avis WWI field replacement barrel is marked behind front sight "AV / flaming bomb / 12-18". Ladder rear sight marked "R", without volley notch. Blade front sight movable base marked "R". Unmarked bolt w/ straight-down handle. Magazine cutoff marked "R". Milled trigger guard assembly. Smooth trigger. Balance of furniture is not present, except band spring. S type straight grip walnut stock w/ two recoil bolts & grasping grooves. CONDITION: stock has arsenal rework finish w/ heavy wear & handling marks. Finish renders markings illegible. Area of damaged missing wood at forward end of trigger guard. Metal has mix of worn parkerized finish. Receiver has dull blackened appearance. Good bore w/ lightly worn lands. (25-2873/RW). CURIO. $250-400.
