KNIFE WITH TOOLED SHEATH. Custom U.S.G.I. theater made fighting knife, produced during World War II. The dagger type blade measures 6 1/2" from the point to the brass plate at the top of the grip, with an overall length of 11". Handle is comprised of a solid piece of aluminum. Left side of blade is painted with a black band. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: period tooled brown leather sheath marked "TEXAS" on the front. CONDITION: blade retains a gray patina, exhibiting areas of light to mild pitting and areas of discoloration. Blade edge shows a couple of nicks. Brass plate retains a dark brown patina, with the aluminum grip retaining a dark gray patina. Sheath remains malleable, exhibiting some wear, as well as some spots of age related cracking and crazing. (02-24416/MLW). $700-1,100.
