RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 1354582. Bbl. 26". Bbl. is WWII-era replacement marked w/ "HS / flaming bomb". Manufactured by High Standard. Bolt is marked "W". Bolt shroud & cocking piece are marked "E". Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1,600 yards. Ladder is marked "R". Slide is marked "W". Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Walnut stock set. Forend tip is marked "E" & rifle has boxed "OGEK" on left side. This marking indicates the rifle was inspected at the Ogden, Utah arsenal by the noted firearms authority Elmer Keith. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel-plated oiler in butt compartment. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish w/ softened edges & added finish over numerous handling marks. The metal retains 75% of its original worn thinning blue, except the replacement bbl. is parkerized. Very good shiny bore. (25-2303/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
