RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 730474. Bbl. 26". Marked behind front sight "E / flaming bomb / 6-18". Rifle has been refinished & a ventilated recoil pad added to the buttstock which renders the rifle no longer Curio. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1,600 yards. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. All visible parts markings are "E" except the Winchester replacement bolt. Walnut stock set. Stock is marked faintly on the left side w/ two rebuild marks & has faint "P" under pistol grip. CONDITION: stock set has gloss finish over moderate wear & handling marks. Butt has been slightly reshaped to accommodate the Pachmayr recoil pad & leaves a portion of the steel buttplate tang visible. Metal has thinning original finish turning gray w/ light wear. Bore has strong lands w/ lightly frosted grooves. (25-2812/RW). MODERN. $300-500.
