MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 573620. Bbl. 24". Barrel marked behind front sight "SA / flaming bomb / 2-14". Receiver manufactured in 1914. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,850 yards with volley notch. Dished windage and elevation knobs. Blade front sight. Sight cover has "C64157-4" drawing number. 1903 bolt with unmarked straight down bolt handle. All milled furniture including fine checkered buttplate. "S" type straight grip walnut stock and handguard. Stock markings have been rendered illegible due to arsenal rework type finish. Forend tip has the Springfield "S" marking. Handguard appears to be later replacement. Tan WWI era Kerr Nobuckl sling. CONDITION: stock set has a moderately worn arsenal rework finish with slight loss of wood in buttplate area and numerous handling marks throughout. Metal turning gray and patina with some areas of worn thinning original blue. Shiny bore will strong sharp lands. (25-6289/RW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
