RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 605238. Bbl. 26", marked behind front sight "R (flaming bomb) 9-18". Ladder rear sight graduated to 1600 yards. Blade front sight with protective ears. Receiver is marked on the left rail with a flaming bomb and two faint eagle acceptance marks. The bolt handle is marked on top with "H (flaming bomb)" and marked underneath with "E.". The rear sight ladder is marked "R.". Rear sight spring marked "E". Walnut stock set. Replacement stock is unmarked except for "W" at the forend tip, indicating Winchester manufacturer. Smooth trap buttplate. Brown leather military Hunter-type sling. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear and handling marks throughout. There are two tiny cracks behind the receiver tang. Receiver, bolt, and bbl. have a good amount of original blue with thinning and wear. The balance of the metal is turning a gray patina. Very good, shiny bore.
