RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 465051. 24" bbl is marked behind front sight "R / flaming bomb / 8-18". ladder rear sight graduating to 1600 yards. Blade front sight with protective ears. All major parts markings including bolt handle and stock tip marked "R". Receiver marked on left rail with flaming bomb. Walnut stock set marked with two eagle head acceptance marks under grip and forend. Brown leather Model 1907 sling marked "H&P. 1918". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock has a good appearance with its arsenal rework type finish which has resulted in a slight softening of edges. Stock set has small scattered handling marks throughout. Metal retains 75% of its original blue with thinning and light wear. The bolt assembly has been finished bright and is returning to gray and patina. Sling has wear and scuffing. Bore has strong sharp lands and dark frosted grooves. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret. USAF Lt. Col. (26-753/RW). CURIO. $600-900.
