MILITARY RIFLE WITH WARNER & SWASEY 1913 TELESCOPIC SIGHT. Cal. 30-06. S# 695062. Bbl. 24". Bbl. marked behind front sight "SA / flaming bomb / 8-17 / A". Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,850 yards. Blade front sight. Front sight is equipped w/ unmarked steel cover. Bolt w/ straight down handle marked on top "AB". Straight grip "S" type walnut stock w/ two recoil bolts. Brown leather Model 1907 type sling. Rifle has been equipped w/ an original Warner & Swasey Model of 1913 telescopic musket sight using a reproduction dovetail scope base attached to left side of receiver rail. The black painted scope retains it's original markings which give range & wind corrections along w/ other firing data. Markings enhanced in white. Scope has external adjustments on the left side. The rubber eyepiece is not present. The scope dovetail has not been marked on the inside. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel-plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has well-worn arsenal rework refinish w/ faint boxed Rock Island Arsenal rework mark. There is a notable loss of wood in inletted areas & softening of edges. Metal retains 70% of it's arsenal rework Parkerized finish. The scope has 60% of its flaking worn black painted finish. Two screws are missing from the top cover. Optics are cloudy w/ spotting & detached sealant. Notable chip on right side of objective lens. Ocular lens has notable scratches. Dark oxidized bore w/ moderate pitting throughout. (25-2177/RW).
