MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 728166. Bbl. 24". Marked behind front sight w/ "SA / flaming bomb / 10-17". Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,850 yards w/ volley notch. Blade front sight. Bolt w/ straight down handle is marked "J?" under safety lug. Cutoff & spindle from Mk1 rifle. All milled furniture including smooth trap buttplate. Trigger guard is marked "R" on the right rear of the trigger guard bow. "S" type straight grip walnut stock set. Stock w/ two recoil bolts is marked w/ faint boxed "J.C.C. / R.I.A.". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel-plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has had restorative cleaning resulting in softening of edges. Metal has a very dark blue arsenal refinish w/ light wear. Bore has a degree of shine w/ worn lands & areas of shallow pitting notable ahead of throat. (25-2797/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
