Cal. 30 Carbine. S# 889028. Bbl. 18". Barrel is marked behind front sight "INLAND MFG. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS / 10-43". Narrow barrel band is unmarked. Flip type aperture rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. Receiver marked "SG" at right forward corner. Flip type sight appears to be original without stake marks. Flat bolt marked "IO". Six o'clock slide marked "PI". Milled inland trigger guard assembly. Push button safety. Straight cut hammer marked "IN". Highwood walnut stock marked "IO" in sling slot. Faint "crossed cannons" on right side of butt. Encircled "P" proof at end of grip. Two rivet handguard marked "IO". MAGS: 1 unmarked 30 round commercial. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, staining and handling marks throughout with notable small areas of white paint. Metal retains 75% of its original parkerized finish with wear and light oxidation. Bore has strong lands with areas of fine pitting. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret.
