MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 4089554. Bbl. 24", marked behind the front sight "RA", flaming bomb, and "11-43". Aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Blade front sight. Bolt and bolt shroud marked "R". Cutoff is marked "R". All stamped furniture includes a fine checkered buttplate and a large bow trigger guard. Straight grip walnut stock set with two recoil bolts. Buttstock is marked on the left side over the trigger guard with boxed "FJA", crossed cannons, and "RA". Encircled "P" proof under grip. "W" assembly mark at rear of trigger guard. Several partially legible assembly marks are in front of the trigger guard. WWII-era web sling in fair condition. CONDITION: walnut stock set has a dark appearance with moderate wear, staining, and handling marks throughout. Metal has 75% worn, parkerized, and blued finishes, as the stamped parts of these rifles were blued. Numerous small spots of oxidation are scattered throughout. The 2-groove bore has a degree of shine with frosted grooves and scattered fine pitting on the forward end. (24-2365/RW). CURIO. $800-1,200,
