MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 4187797. Bbl. 24". Marked behind front sight "RA (flaming bomb) 12-43". Adj. aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Blade front sight with protective cover. Cover is marked "R (flaming bomb) U.S." All major parts' markings are "R." All stamped furniture, including fine-checkered trap buttplate and large-bow trigger guard. Straight-grip walnut stock with two recoil bolts. Buttstock is marked on the left side with "RA (crossed cannons)" and a boxed "FJA." Marked "OG" in the cheek area, indicating test and check at Ogden Arsenal. Encircled "P" proof under the grip and legible assembly numbers in front of the trigger guard. CONDITION: stock set has light wear and scattered handling marks with the original finish. Metal retains 90% of its original finish, with thinning and light wear. Very good, shiny two-groove bore.
