MILITARY RIFLE. CAL. 30-06. S# 4088891. Bbl. 24", marked behind front sight "RA", flaming bomb, and "10-43". Adj. aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Blade front sight. All visible parts are marked "R". All blued-stamped furniture, including the large bow trigger guard and fine, checkered trap buttplate. Walnut stock set. Straight grip stock has two recoil bolts and is marked on the left side "RA", crossed cannons, plus boxed "FJA". Circle "P" proof under grip. Four assembly numbers are visible ahead of the trigger guard tang. Tan leather Model 1907 type sling marked "MRT 10/79". CONDITION: stock set has a lightly worn original finish with scattered handling marks. Relief area behind the receiver tang has been filled. Receiver and bbl. have been polished and reblued. Balance of metal retains most of its original blue finish. Markings have been enhanced with white. Very good, shiny, 2-groove bore. (24-2014/RW). CURIO. $500-700.
