MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3716260. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked behind the front sight "RA (flaming bomb) 4-43". Adjustable aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Blade front sight. Replacement Smith Corona bolt. Bolt shroud and safety are marked "R". Walnut stock set. All stamped furniture, including a fine checkered trap buttplate and a large bow trigger guard. Pin-type reinforcing bolts. Stock is marked on the left side of the butt with a boxed "OG", which is an overhaul mark used by the Ogden Utah Arsenal. The boxed acceptance mark is present but illegible due to the Arsenal rework finish. WWII vintage green web sling, which has faint ink marking near the sling hook. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel-plated oiler in butt. A canvas muzzle cover that is marked "U.S." and "FROEHLICH CO 1944". CONDITION: The stock set has a very good arsenal rework finish with very light wear and scattered handling marks. Metal retains a large degree of parkerized finish, including the receiver with its distinctive greenish cast. Bore is shiny, with worn lands turning dark in the grooves.
