RIFLE. Cal. 30 M1. S# 74499. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked on the right side, "S-A-4-41". Throat gauges are 3.0. Muzzle gauges are 1.0. "Locking bar" rear sight with "battle range" elevation knob. Blade front sight with protective ears. All visible part markings are "SA". Markings have been enhanced in white. Milled trigger guard. Cross-slot gas cyl. lock screw. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked on the left side with a boxed "SA" and "N.F.R.". Additionally, there is a crossed-cannons overhaul mark. Marked under grip with encircled "P" proof and has a white "21" rack number at the end of the grip. Flat lower band without a vertical channel. Trap buttplate. WWII web sling with flat keeper. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: M7 grenade launcher marked with encircled "AH" and "M7 LAUNCHER FOR M1 RIFLE". Nickel-plated oiler. Plastic grease cup. Early-style combination tool with slotted chamber cleaner. CONDITION: stock set has an arsenal rework-type finish with moderate wear and handling marks. Markings are legible. There is a slight loss of wood around the buttplate. Metal has a worn early arsenal rework finish. Good, shiny bore with lightly worn lands. PROVENANCE: the collection of Curtis H. Halvorson.
