SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga., 2 3/4" chamber. S# 606111. Bbl. 26" of nickel steel with a solid rib. Fixed mod choke. George Ulrich was a primary engraver of Winchester shotguns from 1919 until his untimely death in 1949. The right side of the action features a woodland scene with two pointing dogs and two flushing partridges. The left side features a waterfowl scene with four flying mallards. Scenes are surrounded by highlights of a vine-type foliate scroll that extends to the upper and lower receiver areas, as well as a trigger guard bow. Small forearm and straight grip stock of fancy walnut with wraparound trap grade checkering having black diamonds on both sides of the wrist. LOP: 13 3/4" over an aftermarket Jostam red ventilated pad. Mfg. 1930. CONDITION: 70% fading, reblued finish with a slightly plum cast on the bbl. Receiver sides retain some roughness, and engraving shows light polishing wheel distortion. Stock and forearm have added finish over light wear with scattered scratches, marks, and small dents. The recoil pad is cracking and being crushed from age or heat. Very good, bright bore. Action is sound and on time. Four notches are taken up on the headspace ring. (23-5156/DS). CURIO. $3000-5000.
