SHOULDER PATCH WITH PHOTO. This is a truly wonderful example of one of the rarest and most desirable of all WWII US military patches, the Sixth Army Alamo Scouts patch. The patch is accompanied by a studio photograph of a soldier wearing the patch on his right shoulder. The protective paperboard album housing the photograph has Asian writing printed on the reverse. The patch itself is of original 1944 manufacture by the N. S. Meyer Company. It is one of 440 made and remains in superb used condition. It depicts a profile head of a native American superimposed over a likeness of the Alamo. The words " ALAMO SCOUTS SIXTH ARMY " surround the patch. CONDITION: light wear with only minor soiling. (02-25113/BF). $3000-4000.
