Cal. 7.62x39. S# MS011461. Bbl. 16". The ultimate in early 1990s gun culture were the Chinese mfg. AK47 variants that were once so plentiful & inexpensive. As the H.W. Bush import bans started up in the late 1980s, the familiar designs, started to have different model designations. In this case, the prior AKS models morphed into the model NHM before being branded as “assault weapons” & eventually heavily restricted. One of the first new restrictions regarding the semi automatic versions to go into effect was mandated by executive order w/out legislative involvement & banned the importation of guns that didn’t qualify as having a sporting purpose. This particular example is a textbook transitionary piece w/ its reddish hardwood furniture, stamped receiver & under-folding stock. Protected front sight post & rear sight adj. in elevation to 800m. No bayonet lug. Safety selector on right side of receiver. Threaded muzzle brake. Arsenal stamp Triangle "66". Left side of receiver stamped; "NHM90 / 7.62X39MM / MADE IN CHINA / BY NORINCO". Currently sporting green canvas sling. MAGS: (2 Total) 1 steel 30 rd. & 1 steel 5 rd. CONDITION: all outward appearances indicate that this particular example may not have been used very much, if at all. Finish coverage is complete & consistent w/ only noticeable thinning a line on receiver from mechanical intervention w/ safety / selector. Stock locks tightly in all positions. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. Bore is shiny w/ strong rifling. (23-5030/JZ). MODERN. $1,000-1,500.
