ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 7mm Mauser. NSN. Bbl. 29 1/4". Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Inverted V front sight. This unnumbered rifle is marked on top of receiver ring w/ "CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA BRNO". The markings are in a straight line perpendicular to the axis of the receiver. The left receiver rail is marked "VZ 24". There is an additional marking on the buttplate which is "VZOREK C.115". Consignor states this marking which translates as SAMPLE w/ the C115 referring to the page of a BRNO catalog of that era and further states that due to a coordinated sales agreement between Vickers Limited and the CZ Factory that Vickers handled the machine gun sales in areas such as South America w/ CZ supplying rifles. Consignor further states this rifle was part of a small quantity of samples supplied to Vickers for sales purposes and that this rifle was obtained by the CA. arms dealer, Martin B. Retting. This rifle is configured very similarly to the Brazilian 1908 rifle. The rifle has numerous small encircled "CZ" parts markings. Cleaning rod & bayonet bar are present. H Type upper band w/ parade hook. Narrow lower band. Bands are retained by springs. Straight bolt handle. Matching walnut stock set. Stock and hand guard are marked in bbl. channel "298". Cross bolt has typical Czech style indentation for bolt disassembly. Buttstock has bottom swivel base. Quick detachable swivel is not present. Flat steel buttplate. Steel marking disk in right side of butt. CONDITON: stock set has nice appearance w/ a small amount of figure in the buttstock heel area but does have small scattered handling marks and tiny scratches throughout. Small missing chip behind receiver tang. Notable 1" check in the top left of the handguard mid way between rear sight and lower band. Bright bolt w/ the beginnings of gray coloration. Cleaning rod, cross bolt, trigger and buttplate are finished bright. Balance of parts retain 95% original blue w/ light high point wear. Screw heads have faint straw color. Near excellent shiny bore.
