FABRIQUE NATIONALE HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH PROVENANCE. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 102271. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/ HERSTAL - BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE", with a seemingly later applied United Arab Republic's coat of arms marked on the top of the slide, towards the rear sight. Left side of the frame and slide, as well as the right side of the bbl. exhibit Belgian commercial proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the slide, which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features a fixed half-moon blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and slide, with the bbl. appearing to have been renumbered at one time. MAGS: 1 blued 13-rd. with black enamel finish button type follower. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: notes from Charles Wagner detailing this variation. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Front grip strap exhibits scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting, with some wear, thinning, and mild pitting present on the rear grip strap. Forward edges of frame exhibit some mild pitting. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate degrees of pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-409/MLW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
